AnyPS5 GitHub: Repository, Releases and Documentation

Find the official AnyPS5 GitHub repository, choose matching release assets, navigate versioned documentation and prepare a useful game report.

The official AnyPS5 GitHub repository is boykopovar/AnyPS5. Start there for source code and downloads, and use its documentation and game discussions to understand the build you are about to try. Our AnyPS5 guide connects those sources with setup instructions and game reports.

What you need Where to go What to look for
Project overview README Scope, design, GPL-2.0 license and official project links.
Downloadable binaries Releases Relinker executables, target-system libraries and the instructions for that tag.
Conversion commands USAGE.md Input files, output flags, module paths and runtime layout.
Source builds BUILD.md Supported toolchains, dependencies and build targets.
How it works ARCHITECTURE.md Relinking, replacement libraries and graphics translation.
Known engineering problems TechnicalDebt.md Documented limitations and unresolved implementation work.
A particular game Game bring-up discussions Firsthand runs, configurations, logs and follow-up comments.
A reproducible software defect Issues Existing bug reports and the project's current reporting instructions.

The document links above follow main. When reproducing an older result, switch GitHub's branch selector to the recorded tag or commit; a current command or library may differ from the one its author used.

Choose a release or a source build

Download a matched release

Our walkthrough uses v0.1.2, whose assets include these pairs:

  • Windows: relinker-v0.1.2.exe and prx-windows-v0.1.2.zip.
  • Linux: relinker-v0.1.2 and prx-linux-v0.1.2.tar.gz.

The library packages are also available in the other archive format. The Windows package includes the MinGW runtime DLLs needed alongside its replacement .prx libraries. Download the instructions attached to the same release and keep the files together. This tag has no macOS release package.

A release is a convenient way to obtain matching files. It does not mean that every game discussed on GitHub works with it: a report may use newer main code or a separate patch stack. The AnyPS5 setup guide shows where each file goes.

Build a recorded revision

For a main-branch result, check out its commit before building. For an experimental result, first find whether the author published a branch and listed all additional changes; an open pull request is not automatically part of main.

With the toolchain from AnyPS5 requirements installed, the full-build commands in the v0.1.2 build instructions are:

bash
git clone https://github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5.git
cd AnyPS5
git checkout v0.1.2
git submodule update --init --recursive
cmake -S . -B build -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_C_COMPILER=gcc -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=g++
cmake --build build --parallel
cmake --build build --target libs --parallel

Use a different checkout only when you intend to test that revision. Rebuild libs after library changes: otherwise the game can keep loading the previous binaries even though the relinker has been rebuilt.

Write a useful game report

Search the game's name and title ID before starting a discussion. If a thread exists, a follow-up keeps the configuration and its history in one place. A useful report includes:

  1. The game: edition, title ID and content version.
  2. The project build: release or commit, branch, additional pull requests and local changes.
  3. The machine: host OS, CPU, GPU and driver; state if you are using CrossOver or another execution method.
  4. The launch route: conversion command, runtime layout, special arguments, existing save or direct level entry.
  5. The result: where the run stopped, what input you tried, and separate observations for audio, saves and stability.
  6. The diagnostic material: the first useful error and relevant logs, reviewed for personal information and game data before sharing.

The report builder in AnyPS5 troubleshooting formats those details locally. Follow the upstream thread's current instructions, and do not attach game executables, proprietary modules, firmware or keys.

Follow the result beyond a headline

The AnyPS5 games page puts reported milestones beside their remaining problems. For implementation counters and branch context, read AnyPS5 progress. Our AnyPS5 Reddit guide links selected community discussions back to the underlying projects.
