The official AnyPS5 web converter relinks a clean PS5 executable in your browser and prepares Windows or Linux output. It is useful when you want to try a conversion without installing the command-line relinker. You still need the game's modules and resources, followed by a runtime attempt on the target system.
Open the official converter, or use this guide to choose inputs and a save mode first. For an introduction to the project, start with AnyPS5.
What happens in the browser
The converter runs a WebAssembly build of the relinker locally. It reads the files you select and obtains matching replacement system libraries from upstream release assets. Your game inputs are processed on your device, while fetching the tool and libraries still needs a network connection.
The converter source at v0.1.2 documents the controls and limits described here. The live page may change with a later deployment.
Convert a folder or ZIP
- Prepare the input. Use a clean ELF and its module directory, with the game resources you need in the output. The tool accepts a folder or ZIP/ZIP64 archive; an encrypted package is not a ready input.
- Choose the files. Use Choose folder or Choose ZIP file on the official page. Check the detected executable and modules before continuing.
- Select the target. Choose Windows
.exeor Linux.elf. The page does not offer macOS output. - Choose how to save. Use the table below, taking both the input budget and browser capabilities into account.
- Run Convert & save. Follow the progress and any file-picker prompt. In memory mode, use the resulting ZIP download control when it is ready.
Choose a save mode
| Mode | When to use it | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Download in memory | The expanded files and output overhead fit within the 256 MiB memory-download budget. | A browser supporting the tool's WebAssembly and download APIs; no direct-disk picker is required. |
| Save ZIP to disk | The result is too large for memory download, or you prefer streaming a ZIP to disk. | HTTPS and showSaveFilePicker support, typically desktop Chrome or Edge. |
| Save to folder | You want uncompressed Linux output written directly to a folder. | HTTPS and showDirectoryPicker support. Windows output must use a ZIP mode because of the browser's DLL-writing restriction. |
A small compressed ZIP can expand past the memory-download budget. If that is the error, changing to a supported direct-disk mode can help.
Two separate 256 MiB limits
The AnyPS5 web converter checks expanded files plus output overhead for memory downloads. Streaming to disk avoids keeping that complete result in memory.
There is also a combined 256 MiB conversion-input limit for the executable, modules and icon. Direct-disk saving does not bypass it. If those inputs are too large, use the native relinker described in AnyPS5 setup.
If conversion or saving stops
- The input is not recognized: check the ELF and bundled module layout against AnyPS5 setup.
- A disk mode is unavailable: use a browser exposing the required picker, or memory download if the result fits. Windows output can use either ZIP mode, not direct folder output.
- The release assets do not match: the worker checks its release manifest and matching library assets. If the live release and Pages deployment are out of step, wait for the matching deployment rather than mixing libraries by hand.
- A conversion-input limit is reached: move to the command-line workflow instead of repeatedly choosing a different save mode.
After saving
Extract the whole ZIP, keeping the executable, libs/ and app0/ together. For Linux folder output, retain the written structure and set the executable permission if needed. The AnyPS5 requirements guide covers the target environment; AnyPS5 troubleshooting covers a failed launch.
Check AnyPS5 games and compatibility reports for results relevant to your title. If a report requires a different branch or library set, follow that configuration rather than assuming the browser's packaged release includes it. The AnyPS5 GitHub guide explains where to find those builds.
